Repashy Superfoods
Repashy Supergels lock in the nutrients better than any flake, pellet, or powdered diets. Repashy’s proprietary gel technology uses soluble algae and plant fibers in a combination that optimizes the gel’s firmness and durability while making up only 5% of its weight. Water soluble vitamins and other nutrients are locked in the gel matrix and remain stable until broken down in the digestive tract.
Repashy Superfoods uses only the highest quality, whole-animal ingredients available; Repashy Superfoods uses whole fish (sardine/anchovy), whole squid, and whole krill as the backbone of the fish food except in the vegan formulas, which mainly contain algae (chlorella/spirulina/schizochytrium/kelp) and green plant proteins from green peas and alfalfa leaves. The gels are 100% free of starch or gluten binders and gelatin. NO fish meal, fish oil, terrestrial meat or soy proteins, wheat gluten, wheat or corn starches, or other ingredients that are industry byproducts. Most dry fish foods contain ample amounts of wheat, corn, or soy to hold the food together and add cheap protein content but they can cause bloat. And many gel foods contain up to 20% gelatin, an irreversibly hydrolyzed form of collagen, to gel the food. When the typical label reads 30-50% protein, over half may be collagen or gluten, which are indigestible for most fish. So half the nutritional content of a typical fish food might be polluting your water, not feed your fish, while costing you money.
Repashy Gels are a very effective way to orally medicate fish. The gel can be heated to the required temperature, and the medication can be mixed in as the gel cools, before it becomes firm. This reduces temperature damage to medications. The medication will remain locked in the gel. This permits direct intestinal delivery, which is vastly superior to absorption through medicating the water.
Super easy to prepare: I add 1-2 cups of boiling water per 1 oz of powder premix, quickly blend it with a whisk, and immediately pour into a food storage container. The gel solidifies quickly at room temperature and is then ready to be fed as slabs or cubes. It does not fall apart in the water and provides a grazing surface for the fish. By adding more or less water you can prepare a more gummy or a soft gel. Ideal as a weekend food for fish fry. I prepare larger batches (1 lb of powder) and then store it covered in the refrigerator for up to two weeks or frozen for up to 6 months.
Economical: two ounces of Supergel premix equal about a pound of finished gel, so this food is very cost effective at ~$2 per lb (wet) or $15 per lb (dry).
